About Me

I'm currently wrapping up my doctoral research at the Chair of Connected Mobility at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, where I also earned my master's degree in Computer Science. My research centers on Recommender Systems, with a particular focus on building responsible tourism recommendations that prioritize sustainability and social good. With my PhD nearing completion, I'm excited to bring this work into industry and am actively exploring new opportunities, ideally at the intersection of generative AI systems, information retrieval, and recommender systems.

I love using technology to make everyday work simpler and more human, and I'm especially drawn to the intersection of AI and human-centered design. Along the way, I've built data science, AI, and software engineering projects at companies and institutions including Deutsche Telekom, Experteer, and the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, which has given me a deep, practical understanding of the field. I'm a web developer who designs and builds my own applications, including this very site, which was created back when "AI-assisted coding" still mostly meant searching Stack Overflow. I also hold the title of Google Developer Expert (GDE) in AI.

Beyond my research, I enjoy giving back to the academic community by organizing workshops such as LLM4Good at UMAP'25 and RS4SD (Recommender Systems for Sustainable Development through Responsible Nudging) at CIKM'25, helping drive conversations around the ethical and practical use of AI for social good.

Over the past two years, I have delivered over 50 tech talks across 15+ countries on three continents. I was named one of the 100 technologists to watch for 2023 and won the Google Developer Expert Community Award (Rising Star), the 2023 Women Who Code Applaud Her Award (Data Science), and the DevelopHER Awards 2022 (Emerging Talent). As a Google Women Techmakers (WTM) Ambassador and a diversity advocate, I am dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM through my involvement in various women in STEM networks such as ACM Women in RecSys, Female Tech Leaders (FTL), Women Who Code (WWC), Women in CS at TUM (IFF), Anita Borg's Indian Women in Computing (IWiC).

When not sitting at my computer, I am usually traveling, collecting passport stamps, and fridge magnets. ✈️
